My, what change a week can bring.
Against Missouri, I didn't pick a winner because I don't do participation trophies. Nobody ate up Mizzu, so nobody deserved it.
Florida, last week, was similar but Pete Lembo's group did their part and showed out, so that's why he received the award last week.
The funny part is, his group did the least on Saturday to contribute towards the victory. Not because they didnt do their part, but because the Offense and Defense beat the brakes off of TN while they were on the field and Special Teams didn't hardly see the field (other than kick a whole lot of extra points and kickoffs) to need to do anything spectacular.
This started out as the toughest pick of the season.
First, Peyton Williams came in when the officials called a trash targeting against Emmanwori (I honestly don't know what you want Defenders to do in that situation) and played a great game.
Bell had a great game with multiple TDs.
Vann couldn't be stopped and had 2 TDs.
DK had passing, receiving, and rushing yards, and scored on a run (and should have had a passing TD cough cough).
Juice Wells had 170 something yards, a rushing and receiving TD and should even get a "Mossed Em" shout out.
Truth be told, the whole team ate em up ...
BUT ...
When you have one of the most historic wins in program history.
When you score the most points that any unranked team ever has against a Top 5 team in College Football history.
When you have the most Touchdowns in a single game in program history.
When you complete 81% of your passes.
When you have passing, receiving, and rushing yards.
When you played at a school known for airing it out, but had the most yards and touchdowns in your college career.
When you've been beaten down by every talking head and every "never was" on social media, and you just shut every single one of them up.
When you finally did YOU again.
This was the easiest pick of the season.
Spencer Rattler had one of the most historical games of any College QB in history, period, end of discussion. And he did so because he finally got that "cocky" back in him. When he stepped up and hit Vann for the long TD, that I've been saying all year he just needed to get, for the 2nd score I said, "Uh oh, he's on."
I know he probably couldn't care less about me or this silly weekly shout out that I do, but if you do stumble upon this Spencer ... sincerely ... congrats man!
We love when our team wins because we get to brag to everyone about how awesome our guys are, but rarely do we really think about how the players must feel. I can only imagine how #7 feels and I'm genuinely happy and proud of/for him.
Saturday night, in every single possible way, Spencer Rattler ATE EM UP, and became the first 2 time winner.
